Audrey White, from Liverpool, has attended hundreds of protests over the last 50 years. This month was the first time she had been arrested.
“I think we should all be worried. Even if you don’t support Palestine, even if you’re not a protester. You should worry for our country,” she says.
Nearly one month on from Palestine Action’s proscription as a terrorist organisation, Haroon Siddique, the Guardian’s legal affairs correspondent, discusses with Nosheen Iqbal the many different scenarios in which protesters have been arrested on suspicion of supporting the group, the high court legal challenge that the government’s decision is now facing, and what this all means for anyone considering protesting about Palestine.
